  It's not two points at opposite ends of the scale. gender like sexuality is a gently graduated line. But there are similarities across genders. And I think it can be helpful to acknowledge these without setting them as constraints or limits. It's not about "ought to". Surely we can celebrate similarity alongside difference?

  I couldn't agree more. I think women can do what the hell they like and never be a victim of their own making, but I'd really rather not see my sisters walking around with their baps out. Women are about so much more.

  An excellent post, and one i can totally identify with. Trouble is, as a writer, the need/desire/compulsion to write the truth is so strong, you really do have to battle it down sometimes. But you have to ask yourself - is it worth the extra laugh to divulge that bit of information? It rarely is.
