Awesome Moments In The Powder Room
It's time for another riveting installment of Awesome Moments In The Powder Room!
No, I'm not talking about that spyhopper your 14-year-old son forgot to flush yesterday.
I'm talking about the newest pages of my Editor-in-Chief Brag Book!
You see, one of the many hats I wear each day is that of "talent scout." It is my job to seek and find writers who will not only fit with our brand of edgy women's humor & heart, but who will also be the kind good citizens of the Internet who are easy to brag about.
On that note, we're hoping to see a lot more of Bad Sandy blogger Meredith Gordon around these parts in the near future. Meredith was actually referred to me several months ago by Amy Wruble, regular ITPR contributor and one of the fabulous co-authors of our new bestselling humor anthology, "You Have Lipstick on Your Teeth." See that? Women helping women—it's what we set out to do every day here In The Powder Room.
This is the post that made me fall in love with Meredith: Parenting Advice from Kim Kardashian. Read it. You can thank me later.
Now let's just back this bad boy up a minute.
That's right, I said "bestselling" a few sentences back. (I KNOW!!) Not that I'm surprised. I knew our anthology was something special the minute I read the first submission. But seeing people enjoy it as much as we had hoped is truly a dream come true. If you are one of the loyal readers who have already bought a copy or two of our book, THANK YOU SO MUCH! If not, what's taking you so long? We already have 31 five-star reviews, so you know they're not all from my mom.
(Which reminds me—Mom, have you done your Amazon review yet? Come on—it only takes a minute! Those reviews really help our sales. Just do it already or no school pics for you.)
Speaking of book reviews, this one by Mackenzie of Raising Wild Things actually made me cry, it was so spot-on.
In other news, two of our regular writers and "Lipstick" co-authors Tracy (aka Momaical) and Amy Wruble were recently named two of the Top 10 Funny Moms on the Web by Parent Society! HOLLA!
I am also thrilled to share that we recently promoted staff writer Robyn Welling (aka Hollow Tree Ventures) to Editorial Assistant. Now, in addition to writing her weekly column here, she is also responsible for a whole host of behind the scenes technical work, editing, copy writing, and graphic design. It's been less than two weeks since her promotion and I honestly don't know how we've managed to exist without her. Big congrats (and thanks!) to Robyn—she is rocking our world.
And finally, it's not often that I come across something on the Internet that makes me burst into happy tears, but this impromptu duet by Kristin Chenoweth and random audience member Sarah Horn made me feel all mushy inside about all the talented friends I've made through In The Powder Room. You have definitely changed me for the good, and for that I am grateful.
