Wanted: new caulk

I'm so embarrassed.

My caulk is shrinking.

At first I thought it was just my eyesight failing me. I got out of the shower, looked down at my caulk, and it didn't seem...right. It looked lop-sided. Shriveled.

But it's not that old yet, so I brushed away my worries.

Then I noticed a pattern.

When things got hot and steamy, sometimes the barrier would accidentally get pushed aside.

There'd be spillage all over, which would quickly slide down the pipe, dripping onto the floor below my fixtures.

I thought if I were quick with a towel they wouldn't notice the puddle.

They always noticed the puddle.

So now I need to go find an expert-someone who can tell me how to increase both the length and width of my caulk.

I'd really like my caulk to stay the same color, too.

I wonder whether my new caulk will be nice and straight. Though, as long as it gets laid right away, I won't complain.

Most importantly, I need to find the secret to getting my caulk to hit the right spots. There are some pretty important nooks and crannies my caulk can't reach right now.

What a disappointment that is.

So before I can invite anyone else to stay the night, I need to look into fixing my caulk.

If that means getting my hands dirty in the process of improving my caulk, so be it.

Long, smooth caulk that can take a beating without losing its pliable strength is a beautiful thing.

And I deserve it.

My kids hate that I say CAULLLLLLK with emphasis on the L sound but I want to make sure that when I say I need caulk, there is no mistaking what I need (otherwise, it wouldn't be discussed in front of kids anyway)

@Kim: On one hand, yeah, I see that. On the other hand, it must be hilarious to see you trying so hard not to say a very naughty word. :)

@JD @ Honest Mom: Plumbing, my dear. I speak of some plumbing work that needs to be done in my bathroom by the shower. Whatever could you have thought I meant?

I have caulk trouble, too. I keep laying more and more caulk but it never wants to stick around.

@hollow tree ventures: I think your caulk is intimidated. Are your cracks too wide? Too deep?
